Other than a brief fling with G Gundam in my youth, I’ve never been too much of a Gundam fan. That said, I might just have to plan a trip to Tokyo to stay in one of Pacific Le Daiba’s Gundam rooms. I wish I could wake up every morning with a “Zaku” staring me straight in the face!
Opening to the public this Friday, these rooms are truly a sight to behold. There are pillows sporting the insignia of the Earth Federation as well as that of Zeon, window graphics that look like mobile suits are peering into your room, and even a model cockpit with a light-up dashboard.
Here’s a video tour of the rooms so you can see how truly spectacular these hotel suites really are.
These rooms cost the hotel roughly $125,000 to trick out and, for guests wanting to stay just one night, come with a $338Â price tag. Not to mention the travel costs to get to Japan. It may well be cheaper to just paint a “Zaku” on your window to make you scream in terror every morning.
