Editor’s Note: Amanda’s mom told us that she’d make sure her daughter delivered her Hannibal commentary by Monday every week. We’re not sure which benevolent wizard has taken a liking to us, but so far it’s working.
I HAVE TO BELIEVE THIS HAPPENS.
I would say that this episode was a solid “A”. I was mightily impressed by everything: the fishing/hunting metaphors, Bee Man, creepy Amanda Plummer, the Crawfords getting stoned, it was all strong stuff. How touching was it to see Will and Dream Abigail fly fishing in Will’s mind stream? How sweetly psychotic was Amanda Plummer when her character was all, “Oh yes, dear. I totally killed and I’ll kill again. Would you like a biscuit?” Did I mention that the Crawfords got stoned? Amazing!
And then Hannibal Lecter had to go and kill my favorite character. I MEAN, she’s not dead. Beverly’s totally fine because the episode ended on a cliffhanger and anything can happen in a cliffhanger. Beverly’s probably on her way to whatever secluded beach resort Dr. du Maurier escaped to two episodes ago. What’s that, series show runner Bryan Fuller? YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH. YOU SHUT YOUR LYING MOUTH. I’M CLOSING MY EARS NOW SO I DON’T HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOUR LYING LIES. LALALALALA, YOU’RE LYING, LALALALALA…
Amanda LaPergola is a New York-based actor and writer. Poor thing. She is really taking this week’s episode hard. You can comfort her at @LaPergs.
