This is just good television, folks. On The Jonathan Ross Show, Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman, Luke Evans, and the show’s hosts performed that catchy anthem of toxic masculinity, “Gaston.” Luke Evans’ performance is particularly notable here since he’ll eventually be performing the song as Gaston in the Bill Condon-directed Beauty and the Beast adaptation.
What do you think of Evans’ performance here? I actually think all three of these guys sound great, although only Jackman and Evans really have the Gaston “look” for me (damn does Taron Egerton have a nice voice though). I’m also impressed by their ability to multitask, it takes a lot of concentration to quaff/preen/sing at the same time.
Beauty and the Beast arrives March 17th, 2016, and stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Ewan McGregor as Lumière, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Babette, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as LeFou, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, and renowned antler-decorator Luke Evans as Gaston.
