Instagram recently banned the word “curvy” from their search, because of inappropriate images on the hashtag. However, many news sources and users pointed out that the ban came across as fat-shaming, especially since plenty of other pornographic and offensive hashtags were still alive and well.

Hashtags like #Curvee and #BringBackCurvy, which protested the ban and its implications were heard, as #Curvy is now no longer banned! Instagram told Buzzfeed:

In the case of #curvy, we don’t like putting restrictions around a term that many people use in very positive ways, so we have decided to unblock the hashtag while taking steps to ensure that it’s not used as a vehicle for bad content.

It’s great that Instagram is listening to its users, and hopefully they’ll get better at handling content. They haven’t always been the best with things like body hair  or period stains so hopefully this is the first in a series of changes.
