Interstellar Almost Had A Different Ending That Was Way Less Mushy

We’ve hashed out the end of Interstellar plenty, but what if that ending had been different? Turns out the ending the film had before Christopher Nolan stepped in to make everything a whole lot less depressing and a lot less straightforward

This comes from Jonathan Nolan, who wrote the original draft of the script. As he said at a media event this week to promote the film’s Blu-Ray release (and as was reported by a Nerdist writer in the audience) in his draft “the Einstien-Rosen bridge [colloquially, a wormhole] collapse[s] when Cooper tries to send the data back.”

That’s pretty terrible news for Anne Hathaway’s character and for Murphy’s relationship with her father,  but might have left a lot fewer people confused.

What do you think of this alternate ending?
