I got a chance during NYCC this year to talk to the team of Adult Swim’s new rotoscope/live-action show Dream Corp LLC. The show, which was executive produced by John Krasinski and Stephen Merchant is as “absurd workplace comedy” about a dream therapy facility.

We spoke to creator Daniel Stessen (who kindly offered to lift me up so I could properly interview Merchant) about why he feels rotoscoping is the best way to capture these dream sequences. Jon Gries plays the easily distracted Dr. Roberts who is (maybe) helping patients and he gives us an idea of what to expect. Nick Rutherford plays Patient 88 and we try to decipher what that number might mean (Spoilers: probably nothing). Merchant voices Terry the Robot (because every office comedy could use a robot) and he’s very excited about the project.

Dream Corp LLC premieres tonight, Oct. 23 at 11:45pm on Adult Swim.
