My apologies, Britons: the United Kingdom red carpet premiere of Iron Man has been delayed from its original date of next Wednesday due to the funeral of former prime minister Margaret Thatcher. But you’re going to see it before any of us Yanks, so I guess our little Revolution wasn’t all that great.

Disney had naturally been arranging a red carpet premiere bash for April 17th. However, since the death of the PM on Monday with a funeral ceremony and procession through London newly set for that date, Iron Man 3 organizers are understandably worried about pulling off the party while the city is gripped in abnormal traffic. Not to mention the whole “party during a state funeral” thing. So the premiere has been bumped one day to April 18th. This is all, of course, indepedent from the actual UK release date of the movie to general theaters. That remains set as April 26th. It won’t show up in American theaters until May 3rd.

Hmm? Did I write this post just for the title? Well, that’s k – LOOK, ROBERT DOWNEY, JR. IN LEDERHOSEN!

Aaand here’s a quote from the writers of Captain America: The Winter Soldier!

It’ll feel like a different genre, we’ll can say that. We’re very proud of the first one because it was our love letter, and Joe Johnson’s love letter, to Indiana Jones, so it had that Forties vibe to it. This is much more of a modern conspiracy political thriller. So it’s a fast ride. The action will fell commensurate. You’ll see Cap fight in a way that you have never seen before, or at least not for him. The DNA is the same, but the animal is different.
