In April 2024, the studio announced that the game’s sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, will be released the same year. Fans were keenly looking out for the next official announcement, which arrived recently during the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024.

The game series’ admirers will be slightly disappointed to know that the title is not releasing this year, but will instead arrive on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox series X/S. Till it arrives, the fans can take consolation from the 25-minute gameplay video Warhorse revealed:

The game will be based in 15th-century Bohemia and will continue the story of its predecessor. The sequel is an open-world action RPG and will feature new weapons like crossbows and the earliest forms of different kinds of firearms. The protagonist will be controlled from a first-person perspective just like in the first part, and the player’s choice of handling missions in certain ways will determine the NPCs’ responses.

As per the game description, blacksmith Henry from Skalitz (Tom McKay), the resident of Central Bohemia during the Middle Ages, will remain the central character. The game takes place during the “turmoil of civil war,” with Henry picking up arms against Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund and his allies. His mission remains to avenge the brutal deaths of his parents and to rise in the ranks from being an ordinary peasant. The gameplay showcase clearly indicates that the game is going to be a bloodbath and is certainly not meant for the fainthearted.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will launch in three versions, affirming its presence as one of the most anticipated upcoming games: Standard Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Gold Edition. Both Collector’s and Gold Edition will be available via both download and a physical copy. The Gold Edition will contain three DLCs that will get a slightly delayed release, as well as tools for the protagonist and bonus content.
