Two different casting announcements give us another DC comics character who’ll be appearing in the CW’s breakout superhero drama, and one unexpectedly returning regular.

Screen Crush is reporting that Dylan Neal, who you might know from his runson Dawson’s Creek, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, or as Hermes in Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief, will be joining the cast of Arrow for at least four episodes next season, in the role of Dr. Anthony Ivo. DC Universe fans will certainly recognize the name Ivo, a supervillain in his own right but also the creator of Amazo, a character most famous out of comics for being a superpower mimicing android who became essentially omnipotent and had to be talked out of destroying the universe by none other than Lex Luthor in Justice League Unlimited. Whether Amazo will make an appearance remains to be seen, on top of Arrow generally shying away from the supernatural in its series, Neal’s Ivo will also be appearing primarily in flashbacks to the island on which Oliver Queen became Green Arrow.

Meanwhile, in more spoilery news, at least if you haven’t finished the season, TVLine says a spokesperson from the CW told them that John Barrowman will be returning to the show, in at least two episodes. Given the events of last season, it’s unclear how often or in what context his character might appear, but we can’t say that we aren’t happy whenever Barrowman appears on our screens in pretty much any context.

She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
