Okay, so he’s not the dry, thoughtful artificial intelligence we know from Iron Man. But considering how great of an actor they got to play him, we’re pretty sure we’re going to like Edwin Jarvis a lot.

The Broadchurch alum has signed on to play Howard Stark’s actual flesh-and-blood butler in the 2015 Agent Carter series alongside Hayley Atwell, Chad Michael Murray, and Enver Gjokaj. Which, okay, don’t get me wrong, I know the show is supposed to be about Peggy Carter feeling marginalized in a post-World War II man’s world, but can we get oooone more lady in there, maybe? Like, I don’t know, a secretary who idolizes Carter and could totally be a spy too if she only put her mind to it? Or a caring neighbor type for charming period-piece B plots?

Either way, at least D’arcy’s a great addition to the cast. I can already see the comparative gifsets of him and Paul Bettany’s Jarvis quietly bubbling to the surface of Tumblr as we speak.
