It’s pretty amazing that the television personalities doing the most to illuminate the problems with American politics and government … aren’t natural born Americans. It’s probably for the best to sometimes look at these things from an outside perspective. While Trevor Noah is doing his South African-born thing over at The Daily Show, John Oliver is focusing his UK-born lens on the US’s electoral system.

In this amazing segment from Last Week Tonight, Oliver talks about the new voter ID laws that have been implemented in the new year across the country, and how these “common sense measures” are less about actual common sense and more about keeping certain people from voting.

Gotta love ‘Muricuh.
