One of these rumors is not like the other. By which I mean, one of them is being talked about in The Hollywood Reporter, and the other is being talked about on a fansite. But that fansite one is one we’d be totally down for, so we’re going to yell it in your face over the internet and hop up and down a bit.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Brolin is in the first steps of joining the cast of Jurassic Park IV, or Jurassic World. There’s just one caveat:

No offer has been made and there no negotiations going on at this stage.

So, basically, Brolin is top of their list but nothing is guaranteed yet. By now you’ve probably figured out that the more unfounded casting rumor is indeed that Idris Elba might be in a movie where he fights dinosaurs. Or at the very least is in the general temporal vicinity of dinosaurs existing somewhere. The story comes from an unnamed source “fairly close” to Jurassic World casting that Jurassic World Movie.com talked to.

Without a doubt, Idris Elba would be a great addition to the cast and would lend some serious talent to the film’s core. But again, until any official outlet provides confirmation on this rumor, we’ll remain skeptical.

Why is it always the most appealing rumors that have the least foundation? Well, okay, we know why. Still, Elba’s inclusion would be great. But lets face it, I’m already going to go see this movie, because I even find Jurassic Park III to be entertaining, albeit in a completely unintentional way.
