The Mad Titan will be back on the big screen this summer, and he’s got a voice this time. Yesterday, the Latino Review broke the news that Josh Brolin will be voicing the role in Guardians of the Galaxy. Word on the street is Thanos will also be appearing in the next Avengers film, Age of Ultron, so it’s very possible we’ll be seeing Brolin’s name in those credits, too.

Thanos, for those drawing a blank, is the big purple-faced dude seen in the post-credits scene of The Avengers. I won’t spoil anything for those of you sticking to Marvel’s cinematic universe, but suffice it to say, he’s real bad news. As far as Guardians of the Galaxy goes, we know that Ronan the Accuser will be the main villain in the movie. Thanos will likely be a background force there.

Reportedly, Brolin is only doing voice work, which suggests that Thanos will be brought to life through Hulk-style CG. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
