KJ Apa Just Dyed His Hair to Play Archie on Riverdale

As soon as the dark-haired KJ Apa got cast as the ginger protagonist in Riverdale, the entire internet had just one important question: Is he going to dye his hair??? Yes. Yes, of course. But will he be able to pull off a redhead look?

At least we have our answer. As you can see above, here’s Apa with his new red hair—and red eyebrows!?—leaked from the CW’s set. He doesn’t have freckles, but other than that, the color that the stylists chose looks about right for Fiona Staples’ new vision of Archie. It’s not quite as light a red, but it’s pretty hard to go from dark brown to ginger.

Fiona Staples’ Archie actually has dark eyebrows, though, whereas Apa’s eyebrows have been dyed red as well. What do you think of the look? Does Apa look enough like Archie? And also … what is that T-shirt they’ve got him in?
