Still hoping to explore Silent Hills? Sorry, but you’re SOL. But there’s definitely hope for something else, something (hopefully) just as insanely nightmarish from Guillermo Del Toro and Hideo Kojima!
Speaking with IGN recently, GDT revealed that he’s still interested in working with Kojima on a new project. Like, real, real interested.
“I love working with Kojima-san,” he said. “We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that’s not going to be [Silent Hills].”
So nothing is set in stone right this very second, but if their future collabos are anything like PT, the teaser for Silent Hills that’s now mainly hiding out in the corner of our brains forever (thank gods you bought it before they took it off the PlayStation Store, right?), it’s gonna be unreal, right? Well, definitely if they work off what they were thinking for Silent Hills. As GDT tells IGN, he and Kojima “were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head.”
He explained, “One of the great moments in Metal Gear [Solid] was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that.”
Oh, these teases! If only they too were playable and able to hold us off until these two make their next totally scary, totally awesome move.
