Last Week Tonight has been making segments like these a real habit lately, and that’s just fine by us. This week’s segment on sex education in America highlights some glaring discrepancies and shortcomings within the American education system. For example: the requirements for sex ed can vary not only from state to state but even from school to school. What’s more, according to the segment, only 13 states require the information to be medically accurate. Yeah, I know, right?

John Oliver does a great job of pointing out how absolutely ridiculous these things are, including those terrible sex ed videos we all know and remember. In fact, he even goes so far as to create a special Last Week Tonight version of a sex ed video starring Laverne Cox, Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman, Kristen Schaal, and more. That alone is worth checking out in this 21 minute long laugh-and-groan fest.
