South by Southwest (SXSW), one of the largest music and media festivals of the year, begins tomorrow in Austin, TX, and thanks to Legendary Digital there will be a heavy geek presence. Even better: thanks to Legendary’s acquisition of both Geek and Sundry and Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls last year, that presence will be heavily female!
They, along with Legendary’s first digital acquisition, Nerdist, will be taking over Banger’s Sausage House and Beer Garden in Austin for a weekend of panels and dance parties.
On Friday, you’ll be able to catch up with Geek and Sundry at their panel at 2:00PM as well as their 1980s dance party at 9:30! On Saturday, Felicia Day will be doing a panel at noon, where she’ll be talking about her new book, You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost), and Smart Girls will be doing their Professional Lady People panel at 1:45PM, which focuses on women in non-traditional careers. On Sunday, you can spend an hour with The Thrilling Adventure Hour’s Ben Blacker, Busy Phillips, and Janet Varney at 4PM.
Check out the full schedule below, and find even more information at Nerdist. And have a great SXSW, y’all!
