I have reservations about commodifying Banksy images, but not when the creative and empowering spirit of LEGO is involved! Jeff Friesen of the Brick Fantastic sells these amazing “Bricksy” prints–perfect for protesting Lord Business.
Bansky’s image of bobbies kissing has an estimated worth of £1million, but Friesen’s minifig version is $20 (definitely more in my price range).
Each print is signed and dated on the back. Alternate sizing can be arranged by contacting Friesen here.
If you can’t make it to Detroit to see this tight-roping rat, at least you can say you’ve seen the LEGO version!
The Brick Fantastic says “Bricksy is an edgy, underground LEGO street artist. He is rumored to have inspired Banksy’s iconic works, or is that the other way around?”
You can order a print and peruse The Brick Fantastic’s impressive collection here. The entire series is fairly inspiring–if street art is going to be commercialized, a transient and imaginative form like LEGO is an awesome way to do it.
