Dante’s Circles of Hell, Redesigned in LEGO Form

About a year ago, LEGO modeler Mihai Mihu began a massive new project to portray all the levels of Hell from Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy as LEGO sets. Today, Mihu’s descent into the punishments of humanity is complete, which is the perfect time to look back at all the hard work.  See all nine blocky levels of Hell, presented below.

In an interview posted on The Brother’s Brick, Mihu said that Dante’s work served only as a framework for the models. Rather than making painstaking re-creations, the models are Mihu’s own interpretation. Nevertheless, its a fascinating project. All the sets are impressively built, and some manage to be downright disgusting. Which, of course, is only appropriate.
