It started as a rumor yesterday, but it’s true. David Letterman is retiring from The Late Show after more than thirty years. This clip from last night’s show isn’t particularly emotional. Dave keeps it light. Still, there’s never been a time in my life when Dave wasn’t on television. He was a big influence. He’ll be missed.
Dave makes it clear the details aren’t set yet. We don’t know who’ll replace him, or even when he’s actually leaving the show besides the vague idea that it will be sometime in 2015.
