One of your favourite Double R Diner waitresses is about to come back into style, but at a completely different roadside joint.  Mädchen Amick, who played Shelly Johnson on Twin Peaks and was recently Wendy on Witches of East End, has joined the cast of American Horror Story: Hotel.

Earlier this week, Amick teased her new role by posting a photo of a script she received and asking if fans “recognized” the font, which was clearly in the style of former American Horror Story titles. Then shortly thereafter, Ryan Murphy confirmed to TVLine that Amick will be on the show, playing opposite Chloe Sevigny’s character in a storyline involving Amick’s sick son (Sevingy is playing a doctor).

I don’t know about you, but this news has me craving black coffee and cherry pie and wondering if the AHS hotel in question will serve both. Also, will Amick be able to do any further seasons of AHS if she’s going to play Shelly in the new Twin Peaks episodes? Also, will she be able to connect Lady Gaga, star and apparent villain of AHS: Hotel, to David Lynch because you know those two would have some stuff to talk about? Also, does anyone else miss Witches of East End? Just me?

In other AHS news, FX officially announced the new season will start on October 7, which means we only have two months (almost to the day!) to see what other wonderful and strange surprises Ryan Murphy has in store for us. After this and the whole Naomi Campbell thing, we can guarantee the owls won’t be what they seem here either.
