Madison Cawthorn makes a 'welp' face

Madison Cawthorn Caught Trying To Bring a Gun Onto a Plane … Again

Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn was reportedly caught trying to bring a gun onto an airplane today, which as pretty much any human in the country, possibly on earth, would tell you, is not a thing you’re allowed to do!

According to the North Carolina news outlet WSOC-TV, a passenger tried to bring a 9mm handgun through a security checkpoint at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Tuesday morning. TSA declined to name the person but three sources told the outlet it was Cawthorn.

This is already entirely believable, given Cawthorn’s established history of not appearing to think through the consequences of literally any of his actions and general vibe of thinking rules and laws don’t apply to him, but this isn’t even the first time he’s tried to bring a gun onto a plane!

Last year, airport security found a gun (also a 9mm) in his carry-on bag. Typically, that sort of offense would result in a $3,000 – $10,000 fine according to Business Insider but Cawthorn didn’t face any punishment at the time and was allowed to pick his gun back up after coming back on his return flight. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s held accountable in any way this time around. (He almost definitely will not.)
