Police were assaulted with a few very odd items earlier this week when they responded to a call that led them to a man in Hackensack, New Jersey, who was threatening to harm himself. It turns out that the man, 43-year-old Wayne Carter, certainly did follow through on his threats, and cut off pieces of his own skin and intestines, and threw them at police.
Officers kicked open the door behind which Carter was residing and found him in a corner, holding a knife. The officers ordered Carter to drop the knife, so instead, Carter stood up and stabbed himself in the neck, abdomen, and legs. The officers attempted to use pepper spray to neutralize the obviously crazed Carter, but to no avail. Then, Carter cut off pieces of his skin and intestines and threw them at the officers, because that’s what you do.
At that point, the officers retreated and called in the SWAT team, which was able to subdue Carter, who was then brought to a hospital. No charges were filed, and Carter was thought to have inflicted such odd harm on himself and thrown the results at police due to either drug use or some kind of mental illness.
Carter was previously arrested for aggravated assault and resisting arrest, but the past charges don’t mention of intestine and skin tossing, which sounds like some kind of carnival game from the The Addams Family.
This is a kind of thing that happens in the world.
