My instant queue, already dauntingly full of Doctor Who, Torchwood, Farscape, and The Guild, is about to get even scarier. Marvel is releasing an incredibly comprehensive library of their classic cartoon adaptations over the course of this year to Netflix’s instant streaming queue.
The release order is essentially in reverse chronological order, with the first releases available
- The Incredible Hulk (1996-97)
- Spider-Man Unlimited (1999-2001)
- Iron Man: Extremis – Marvel Knights Animation (2010)
- Astonishing X-Men: Gifted – Marvel Knights Animation (2010)
- Spider-Woman: Agent of the S.W.O.R.D. – Marvel Knights Animation (2010)
- Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes (2006)
- Silver Surfer (1998)
- Black Panther – Marvel Knights Animation (2010)
- Iron Man: Armored Adventures Season 1 (2009)
I know what you’re thinking: “but when does the early ’90s X-Men series come out?!” The answer is sometime this summer, which is also when you might expect to see a slight explosion of the Spider-Man screenshot meme when the 1967 show that it’s based on becomes available as well.  Other shows to come to Netflix this summer include:
- Marvel Action Hour: Iron Man (1994-96)
- The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! Season 1 (2010)
- X-Men Evolution (2000-3)
- Spider-Man (1994-‘98)
- Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends (1981)
- Spider-Man (1981-‘82)
Then in the fall, Marvel will wrap up the fanservice with:
- Iron Man (1966)
- Thor (1966)
- Captain America (1966)
- Hulk (1966)
- Sub-Mariner (1966)
Happy watching!
