If not, then directors Scott Derrickson and James Gunn have an interesting sense of humor.

Fans were pretty bummed when Marvel decided to skip out on San Diego Comic-Con last year–and while Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was the first one to break the bad news before Marvel officially confirmed, it sounds like Gunn may have also leaked some pertinent info in terms of Marvel’s return to Comic-Con this year.

Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson tweeted out the below hint yesterday, which would certainly lead one to believe that Marvel will be bringing this film to SDCC:

Meanwhile, James Gunn decided to allude to his own presence (and that of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 by extension):

Since these are the next two movies on Marvel’s release schedule, it would make perfect sense that the studio would want to showcase them at Comic-Con–and the tease from both of the directors involved could also be confirmation of that. If not, it’s a very cruel trick, you two! Fingers crossed that in addition to some great panels we’ll also get the official announcement of who will be playing Captain Marvel and some fun Spider-Man: Homecoming footage. I can’t wait to see more of Tom Holland’s Spidey.

What are you all hoping to see if Marvel returns to Comic-Con this year?
