Are teen girls with magical powers your reason for getting up in the morning? If so, Dark Horse’s latest offering, Zodiac Starforce, may become your new favorite thing, and The Mary Sue got anĀ exclusive look at this store variant cover!Ā Dropping in August, Zodiac Starforce is created by Kevin Panetta (Bravest Warriors) and Paulina Ganucheau (TMNT: New Animated Adventures, Bravest Warriors), and is described as Sailor Moon meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

From Dark Horse Comics:

Theyā€™re an elite group of teenage girls with magical powers who have sworn to protect our planet against dark creatures . . . as long as they can get out of class! Known as the Zodiac Starforce, these high-school girls arenā€™t just combating math tests. Theyā€™re also battling monstersā€”not your typical afterschool activity! But when an evil force from another dimension infects team leader Emma, she must work with her team of magically powered friends to save herselfā€”and the worldā€”from the evil Diana and her mean-girl minions!

From Kevin Panetta (Bravest Warriors) and Paulina Ganucheau (TMNT: New Animated Adventures, Bravest Warriors), this super-fun and heartfelt story of growing up and friendshipā€”with plenty of magical-girl fighting actionā€”delivers the most exciting new ensemble cast in comics!

Well, if this art is anything to go by, this book is certainly worth a look! Are you looking forward to Zodiac Starforce?
