HA. “Matilda is the story of Hermione if she’d been raised by the Dursleys.” I can see it.

So I’ve always sort of leaned more toward “Matilda is the story of Carrie, but like, Roald Dahl with more cake and less blood” but I like this version a bit more. Mara Wilson brought up Matilda’s total Hogwarts-worthy witch-ness a couple days ago, something that’s floated around Reddit and Twitter for years, and gave us a look at Matilda’s time at our favorite wizarding school. Like her Hogwarts house.
Matilda would have also been split between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, but ultimately go to the former. — Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) September 29, 2015
Her crew, because you know McGonagall would’ve loved Matilda.
She wouldn’t have been in the clique, but they’d get along. She’s older, and probably hung out with the teachers. https://t.co/4Rz2lPh7G7

And how she would’ve seen Harry and the gang.
I imagine Matilda would, as a seventh year, see second year Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the restricted section, and smile to herself. — Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) September 29, 2015
Seriously Dumbledore, Harry got hundreds of Hogwarts letters, so where did Matilda’s letter go?
