Michael Pena was undoubtedly a fan favorite as Luis in the first Ant-Man film–his deadpan humor made for some seriously hilarious moments in an otherwise uneven film, pacing-wise. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Pena will be returning as Luis for the Ant-Man sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp.
During the promotion of the first Ant-Man film, Pena gave an especially memorable interview on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon wherein he shared that the inspiration for Luis came from a friend of his, a “lovable criminal” named Pablo:
Along with actors David Dastmalchian and T.I., Pena rounded out the memorable members of Scott Lang’s crew. Although it’s unconfirmed if the rest of the crew will cameo, Dastmalchian has expressed interest in returning for a sequel too. Hopefully, Luis’ return also means we’ll be treated to more of his epic stories. Ant-Man and the Wasp, which will be released on July 6, 2018, begins filming early next year.
