You may recall a video that was floating around last September of a working 16-bit arithmetic logic unit constructed in Minecraft. Apparently, the Minecraft gods have decreed that that wasn’t ridiculous and intense enough, for a new video has surfaced from a player named Salaja of a CPU built in Minecraft that can load code and perform operations, displaying the results onscreen in hex notation.
“I only had a basic understanding of logic gates, flipflops, and adders before starting this project,” Salaja said when asked how he learned all this jiggery-pokery. “I built it step by step, adding whatever I thought it need. I didn’t follow any existing cpu architecture, so it is possible that mine is completely unique.”
