Some might argue that Blizzard is “panda”-ring to fans with their newest expansion to the popular World of Warcraft franchise, Mists of Pandaria. What’s actually hard to disagree with is that the company sure does know how to make a cinematic trailer. Blizzard revealed the official trailer for Mists of Pandaria and, while it might not have the same impact as Cataclysm‘s, it’s a doozy. The lost continent of Pandaria supposedly holds many secrets for both Alliance and Horde factions.
At least, that’s what all the promotional material says. The YouTube synopsis actually provides a rather detailed account of what exactly is going on in the Warcraft canon as the game moves into the new expansion:
You’ve ended Deathwing’s destructive rampage and saved the dragonflights from extinction. Now you must unlock the mysteries of the lost continent and discover the dark secrets of Pandaria’s past. Explore ancient kingdoms hidden since before the Sundering, plunder vast treasures from the depths of the forgotten vaults, and rise to defend Pandaria from the shadow of a long buried evil – before it’s too late.
Of course, that’s straight from Blizzard’s marketing department. Whether all of those things resolve in as epic a fashion as the synopsis seems to predict remains to be seen. Benefit of the doubt, though.
