Sometimes people find love in unexpected places — like a heinous murder trial. At least, some people do. A witness in the trial of Amanda Hein, who was convicted of murdering her child, tried to make the best out of a bad situation and posted a Craigslist Missed Connection to find a juror who was smiling at him.

Here’s the Craigslist posting from April 9th:

Murder Trial Craigslist Missed Connection

The court was notified of the ad because it raises some interesting legal questions, but Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said the poster didn’t actually commit any crime because he did not directly contact the juror. Morganelli also reached out to the man he believes to be the poster, but the identity could not be confirmed.

It’s certainly possible that this is just some kind of hoax, but the description and timing all work out for this to be possibly legitimate. This is possibly the worst meet-cute in human history.
