Fans have been looking forward to Brad Bird’s The Incredibles 2 for a long, long time and judging from the trailers, it’ll have been worth the wait. Heads up: there are a few moments with flashing lights that some people may want to avoid.
In the new trailer, we see the Parr family doing usual family stuff: bickering over the dining table about washing hands and eating vegetables, struggling with math homework (“Why would they change math?”), and their mom’s new job. That new job, though? It’s crimefighting as Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) with the help of Winston Deavor (Bob Odenkirk) who’s “changing people’s perceptions about superheroes.” She even gets a cool new bicycle! It’s not all excitement, though. We hear Elastigirl say, “To help my family, I gotta leave it, to fix the law, I gotta break it?”
Bob (Craig T. Nelson), meanwhile, is doing his best with Dash, Violet (who’s “having adolescence”), and Jack-Jack. He’s not doing too bad though, and Mr. Incredible has even figured out a trick to get Jack-Jack to go un-invisible with a cookie. The whole family (and Frozone) will have to come together, however, to fight some new villains—the Underminer from the end of the first film, it seems, will not be the only one. At the end of the trailer we also hear Fro-zone’s wife Honey, who’s sure to give fans more “Where is my supersuit?”-type hilarity.
Incredibles 2 comes to theaters June 15th. Are you looking forward to it?
