Earlier today the POTUS was granted a presence with the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, winner of the Women’s World Cup.

The players had a chance to explore the White House, and were praised by Obama for inspiring young women everywhere:

This team taught all of America’s children that playing like a girl means you’re a badass. Perhaps I shouldn’t have used that phrase; ‘playing like a girl’ means being the best,” he continued with a laugh, while acknowledging his language.

[…] They’ve inspired millions of girls to dream bigger and, by the way, inspired millions of boys to look at girls differently, which is just as important. This victory was about more than just soccer. It was about dominance, and skill, and inspiring our whole country.

The team was even treated to some POTUS jokes when Obama singled out midfielder Cari Lloyd, whose Wikipedia title was edited to say “President” after the World Cup Win: “By the way, the job is about to open up—what’s another candidate in the mix?  I guarantee Carli knows more about being president than some of the candidates who are running.”
