Apparently Olivia Cooke (Earl and the Dying GirlBates Motel) is currently in negotiations to take the female lead role in Ready Player One, directed by Steven Spielberg. If successful, she’d take on the role of Sam, the Canadian blogger (… huh…), alias Art3mis, who is a fellow competitor in the virtual treasure hunt that lies at the center of the novel.

There hasn’t been a male lead casted quite yet, but you can probably expect to hear about one soon as these casting announcements for Ready Player One have been coming in waves.

What do you think, folks? If you read the book, what do you think of Cooke as Sam?
