Needless to say, the Star Wars fandom can be pretty gosh darn detail-oriented. That’s why when Oscar Isaac took on his role as X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron, he had to learn about the entire interior of the X-Wing cockpit. On Jimmy Kimmel last night, he spoke about how most of the buttons had proper assignments and everything, and–more interestingly–which ones were completely up to his imagination.

You just know there’s someone off-screen keeping track of which buttons he pushes to do what, because going forward, that stuff is canon. That must be weird feeling, to think that pushing buttons in a cockpit is essentially creating canon. It’s like writing an airplane instruction manual while you’re still flying.
