Pearl Mackie Shares Footage From Set of Doctor Who

Ever since the BBC broke the news that actress Pearl Mackie would be joining the Doctor on the TARDIS for season 10, we’ve been eagerly anticipating that first behind-the-scenes glimpse of the upcoming series.

The official Doctor Who Twitter account shared both the above photo of Mackie as well as a short video recorded by the actress herself of her first day filming on Thursday earlier this week:

Hmmm. Snowing, in June?

Now, clearly the Doctor Who set is using some fake snow to create the illusion that they’re filming in a different season (even Mackie admits to being a little warm in her winter wear while having to pretend that she’s colder than she really is), but as some have speculated–could this mean that the Doctor will be meeting Mackie’s Bill in the upcoming Christmas episode, rather than a later one as originally revealed by Steven Moffat?

Many fans celebrated the arrival of Bill and her importance to the franchise–I’m all about the fact that she was wearing a Prince shirt in her initial reveal, to be honest, but she also seems like she’ll be a refreshing and welcome addition to Doctor Who.
