If you’ve played more than one minute of Destiny, or been on the internet at all in the past two weeks, you may have noticed people complaining about the story. That’s because Destiny’s story is garbage—and it isn’t helped by Peter Dinklage’s, um, less-than-Emmy-worthy voice acting. This video is a short, spoiler-free synopsis of the “plot,” and it would be funnier if it weren’t so painfully accurate. Also, Dinklebot!
In case you were curious, this is maybe the best example of some of the jargon-filled nonsense that assaults your ear-holes while you play:
Look Guardianâ„¢! The Fallenâ„¢ have taken over this Exiledâ„¢ area. It was an old Forerunnerâ„¢ structure that the Forgottenâ„¢ built for the Ruinedâ„¢

Sigh.
This video was made by Matt Lees, who also made this video talking about how the exclusion of women and minorities in the games industry leads to boring, underwhelming games. You know, kind of like Destiny. High five, Matt. High all the fives.

- The GOTG opening scene, recreated in Destiny
- And this was Dinklage’s “updated” voice acting
- It all seemed fine, in concept
