I have gone on record as not being the most enthusiastic about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. But then this happened. I don’t know whether to be excited or vaguely pissed that I definitely have to see this now.

Via Deadline, Game of Thrones‘ Lena Headey and Charles Dance have joined the cast of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s undead remix of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Aaaaand… that’s it. We don’t know who they’re playing. Though I’d guess Mr. Bennet for Dance, and… maybe Mrs. Gardiner for Headey? Lady Catherine de Bourg, Caroline Bingley, and Charlotte Lucas also remain uncast, though she’s probably too young for the first and too old for the last two. Then again, this is a Jane Austen adaptation with zombies, so I’m ready to suspend disbelief on some things. The only other option I’m coming up with is Mrs. Bennet, and my brain rejects that out of hand because of the whole Dance-and-Headey-playing-father-and-daughter-on-Game-of-Thrones thing. But hey, it’s Game of Thrones—actors could have funky incestuous casting cross-pollination for weirder shows.

As a reminder, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies now stars Cinderlla‘s Lily James, Bella Heathcote, Sam Riley (whom general consensus concludes is one of the best parts of Maleficent, which I still haven’t seen), Douglas Booth, and Boardwalk Empire‘s Jack Huston. Oh yeah, and Matt Smith as Mr. Collins, which I kind of love. That’s Cersei, Tywin, and the Doctor in the same movie. Headey can’t play Lady Catherine anyway, because we need to get Dame Diana Rigg in there and continue the geek takeover.
