Hey, folks! Here we are with a brand new installment of Pull Wisely, your guide to the wilds of New Comic Book Day. As usual, your picks are brought to you by The Mary Sue’s ace Pull Wisely team: Teresa Jusino, Maddy Myers, and Jessica Lachenal. This week’s picks are pretty cape-heavy, with two Gwen Stacy-spinoff books, and you know what? That’s perfectly fine.

Some highlights: Penny Dreadful is coming out with its first comic adaptation with Penny Dreadful #1. It’s a limited series, and one that you should absolutely check out if you’re at all interested in the television show. All-New Wolverine Vol. 1: Four Sisters follows Laura (aka X-23) as she takes up the mantle of Wolverine. As Maddy describes it, “There’s lots of grim angst, as is typical for Wolverine stories, but there’s also some light-hearted stuff in there too.” You can’t lose! Finally: Gwenpool #2! Following up Gwenpool‘s smashing (and explosion-laden) first issue with an appearance by Thor just seems… right for this series.

What’re you picking up this week?!
