Pussy Riot has a long history of criticizing government corruption, homophobia, and racism, both in their native Russia and here in the US. Today, they released a new video for their song “Chaika,” which calls attention to Russia’s Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika, who has been accused of working in collusion with gangs. Check it out above!

Produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, “Chaika” is definitely a less punk sound than we’re used to hearing from them, but this awesome beat really underlines both the band’s sarcasm, and their fury. The band released a statement about their intent with this song, saying:

Pussy Riot demands an immediate investigation against General Prosecutor Chaika and his family, as well as against all the top officials in his office. We hope that the CHAIKA music video will help to convince people that we cannot live in a country where its top law enforcement official is the brightest symbol of corruption and murder. Pussy Riot hopes that people around the world will help us voice our outrage and turn Russia into a country where people like Chaika can no longer exist.

Keep fighting the good fight, ladies.
