We’ve been pretty into The CW’s Riverdale, their latest over-the-top teen drama that just so happens to also be based on the classic Archie comics. Well… “based on” might be stretching it, given the vast tonal shift this show has taken. But still, never one to let a chance at a meta Ouroboros slither on by, the fine folks at Archie comics are putting together a one-shot comic book prequel that tells the story of Riverdale‘s Archie before the fateful summer that changed the sleepy little town of Riverdale forever.

Unlike the show, which is narrated solely by Jughead, this comic shifts a bit and is told from each of the main characters’ perspectives: Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead. Brian E. Paterson, Britta Lundin, James Dewille, and Will Ewing, all writers on the show itself, handle writing for the comic, with Alitha Martinez, Elliot Fernandez, Jim Towe, and Thomas Pitilli handling art.

Teresa gave us a preview of covers and art earlier this month. Now, check out the full, lettered preview, available over at The Nerdist. It’s well worth your time, doubly so if you’re a fan of the show.
