Did you walk out of Star Trek Into Darkness finding it reasonably entertaining as an action flick, but still nothing like anything you ever loved about Star Trek in the first place? Well, get ready for more of that, we guess. Roberto Orci is definitely going to be directing the franchise’s third installment.

While the news still has not been announced through official channels, Variety’s sources — and weeks of rumors that Orci’s been the frontrunner for a long time — are saying that Orci has has the job. Though this will be the screenwriter’s first time directing, he’s written and produced a wide range of television shows and movies — most notably Transformers, Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, Cowboys and Aliens, and Mission Impossible III.

Of course, lately Orci’s probably much more well known for his status as a 9/11 truther, his inability to process online criticism, and his recent split from writing partner Alex Kurtzman. So for fans of the franchise who weren’t quite as satisfied with the quality of the last film, this news will probably not be met well. Well… at least we know the cast is going to do a great job, right?
