Scandal has ended, but there is no doubt that the show’s legacy as both a must-see piece of television in the age of streaming, and a vehicle for black female leads on network television, will live on. Just looking at the final portrait of Olivia hanging in the National Gallery, us the audience not knowing the exact context for it, encompasses all of the important aspects of Olivia Pope as both a political figure and a black woman.

The finale brought final twists, turns and of course deaths. For me, the finale hit the sweet spot of giving everyone the ending they needed, both narratively and for the sake of the audience. Scandal has never been a perfect show, but it always tried it’s best to deliver and it really did that last night.

What did you think of the last episode ever of Scandal and who did you want to see kick the bucket?
