Remember at the end of Shaun of the Dead, where zombies have been integrated into human life as menial workers?
A charmingly creative alternative look at the tail end of a zombie outbreak. But you’ll never guess who’s picked up on a version of that idea and is using it as an actually well produced Halloween tie in.
That’s right. Go to sears.com/zombies and get ready to be somewhat bemused. There’s a feed of their undead Twitter puppet, three reasonably amusing videos of zombies interacting with Sears merchandise, a zombie gift recommender (just takes you to actual Sears product pages), and a zombie creator (frankly, it’s no Scott Pilgrimizer, though).
Probably the best part of the page is the “Switch to Zombian” button, which translates all the text into a language speakable by creatures who’ve mostly chewed their own tongues off.
I can think of one perfect juggernaut brand that’s just looking for a garden supply store to tie in to…
