Dearest Serialites: Serial season 2 has just dropped like a Drake album on a Thursday. Obviously they took their release cues from the Degrassi alum. Obviously. Anyway, season 2 is focused on the case of Bowe Bergdahl, the former US Army Sergeant who deserted his post and was captured by the Taliban in 2009.

Series host Sarah Koenig acknowledged that this season is a bit more far-reaching than the last one. Whereas season 1’s story about Adnan Syed acutely focused on one fated evening, the story about Bergdahl has an extended scope that, according to Koenig, “reaches into swaths of the military, the peace talks to end the war, attempts to rescue other hostages, our Guantanamo policy.”

Additionally, Serial will apparently be more responsive on social media, reaching out to fans who wish to interact with the team.

Hope you’re ready to listen to some Mail… Kimp? Serial. I meant Serial.
