New details about the Sherlock special have emerged! We already knew that it was going to be set in the Victorian era, fantastically enough, but now we’ve got a new trailer as well as some information on when we’ll actually get to watch it.

Masterpiece and PBS have confirmed that the special will be titled Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, which is scheduled to air on January 1, 2016 at 9 PM EST in the United States. However, it’s also going to be airing the same day for our friends across the pond, which means everyone will get to revel in Watson’s glorious mustache together.

The special finds Benedict Cumberbatch’s high-functioning sociopath along with his sidekick Dr John Watson (Martin Freeman) in 1890s London. Mary Morstan (Amanda Abbington), Inspector Lestrade (Rupert Graves) and Mrs Hudson (Una Stubbs) also turn up at 221b Baker Street in the period episode.

Check out the trailer below. It’s so great to see our favorite modernized characters thrust into a more classic Holmesian era (not to mention the appearance of the infamous hat!!):

Plans for season 4 are also underway, and according to reports the show will begin filming again in the spring.
