Sh*t Nerds Say

Consider the Following
This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

I admit to not being a big fan of the “Sh*t Girls Say” videos, because for every line that makes me defensively go “yeah, I say that all the time, what?” there are three that confirm that the video has a very narrow definition of “girls.” You know, to one specific kind of personality type, in a specific kind of demographic group, and blah blah blah big words but basically it’s those kind of sweeping generalizations that ruin a joke for me.

Sorry, the video is currently unavailable.

Now, Sh*t Nerds Say might visually narrow itself to male nerds, but, as you might have guessed, I’m far more comfortable labeling myself as nerd or geek than as girl, and on top of that it leaves me feeling proud that I belong to a nerd community when I say these things.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
