When Star Wars Battlefront came out last year, one of the biggest selling points was that it would contain a playable map of Jakku, which, at the time, was a relative unknown. The map hit about a little more than a week before the movie officially came out and helped gamers reach a fever pitch of hype as they sunk their teeth into the brand new content in the forthcoming sequel. Unfortunately, that would be the only look at the new movies through the Battlefront lens. Not so anymore: according to GameSpot, a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront is due out sometime next year, and it will use content from “the new movies,” said EA CFO Blake Jorgensen.

We always knew Battlefront had a sequel coming–thus is the power of the Star Wars license. But EA has also gone ahead and announced that they expect even more games coming out, something to the tune of one new Star Wars game every year for the next three or four years. In addition to confirming Battlefront 2, Jorgensen confirmed that Visceral and Motive (Dead Space)’s Star Wars action game is due out in the next year, as well as Respawn (Titanfall)’s third-person Star Wars game.

It’s a pretty packed year for Star Wars content, and personally speaking, I’m looking forward to wrecking things on Takodana or Starkiller Base. Aren’t you?
