THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Star Wars: Episode VIII is officially less than a year away, and it’s high time that we start hearing a little more about it, don’t you think? Well, apparently Lucasfilm and Disney think so, too, because they’ve finally decided to announce the official title for the next chapter in the Skywalker saga…
Well, there it is. The Last Jedi. Also, WHAAAAAAT?! So, a couple of things:
- So…is Rey the “Last Jedi” of the title? Is Luke actually the Last Jedi and this means that, Force-sensitive though she is, Rey won’t get to become a Jedi for reasons?
- The lettering of the Star Wars logo is red, when it’s usually yellow. Does this mean that the reason why there’s a Last Jedi is because the Dark Side wins? Does Kylo Ren end up rising up? Is the fan theory that Rey is actually the villain of this new series of films *gasp* true?
What do YOU think of the new title, and what ideas/clues does it give you about story? Let’s speculate in the comments below!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to drop December 15, 2017.
