The TCA summer press tour is the gift that keeps on giving. Supergirl fans already have something to sing and dance about after it was announced that the show would do another crossover with The Flash with characters from both literally singing and dancing. Now, the CW series is beefing up its cast by adding two awesome new people to the mix.

First up is Chris Wood, who you might know as the lovable sociopath Kai on the Vampire Diaries and more recently, in the sci-fi drama Containment. He heads over to National City to play Mon-El, a man hailing from the planet Daxam and possessing superpowers similar to that of Supergirl’s. His character also has close ties to Legion of Super-Heroes, according to Comic Book Resources.

Grimm star Sharon Leal is also joining the cast as Miss Martian. You might remember her as cheerleading coach Vanessa Lodge on the short-lived but never forgotten CW series, Hellcats. Now word yet on how she’ll pop into the show, or how she may or may not interact with David Harewood’s J’onn J’onzz, but in the comics, her character was a member of the Teen Titans.

This comes after it was previously announced that Merlin’s Katie McGrath would be joining as Lena Luthor, and the show finally cast Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.

Supergirl heads to its new home on the CW this October.
